SCANDAL in our SCHOOLS?

Clearly this is a publishing house that does not think it matters if English school books contain mountains of errors of precisely the type that many adult Danes also make.

They are not alone!

This publishing house is a particularly gross example of total indifference to the quality of the English in school books.  But unfortunately they are not the only ones who don't use a native-speaker proofreader to check their English.

The truth is that many, if not most, of the books used to teach English (and other languages) in our schools and colleges suffer to some degree from the same problem.  They have not been checked by professional native-speaker proofreaders and they contain similar kinds of linguistic and cultural mistakes.

Just maybe not quite so many per page!

What can be done about it?
